OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD

The Forester track and field program opened the outdoor season over the weekend, staying close to home at the Polar Bear Classic hosted by Indiana Wesleyan.

Freshman Caleb Farr stole the spotlight in his outdoor debut, rewriting the record books in the pole vault. The rookie cleared 4.80 meters, breaking the program record while hitting the NAIA B standard and claiming first place in the event.

On the women’s side, Anna Jeannin led the charge with a first-place finish in high jump, clearing 1.57 meters to top the field.

Speed was also on display for Huntington as Addyson Dowler turned in a strong sprint double. She raced to a runner-up finish in the 100 meters (12.42) and added a fourth-place showing in the 200 meters (25.58).

In the field events, the Foresters flexed their depth in the discus ring. Maya Gerber secured a third-place finish (37.80m), while Elle Schwietzer added points with a fifth-place throw (35.92m).

With a record already in the books and multiple podium finishes to build on, Huntington now turns its attention to the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open this Saturday, hosted by Cedarville.
