Volunteer Opportunity: Sewing Feminine Hygiene Products for Overseas

Tonight, April 9, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., we have a special presentation at sewing by HU alum Rachal Hawa as she presents on her home country of Sierra Leone and how the feminine hygiene products we are making and sending there are being used an making a difference. She will also be providing a variety of foods she is preparing from her Sierra Leonean culture.

Yes, we will still be sewing feminine hygiene products. Everyone is welcome to join! We would love volunteers to help sew; no experience is necessary. We have both sewing and non-sewing work to do, and we can easily teach you how to sew if you want to learn! It is a great time to relax and socialize with others, while still assisting in a worthwhile cause.

Please contact Nancy Richison at nrichison@huntington.edu for directions and more information.

The Sewing Barn is located at 796W 800 N, Huntington, IN

Future sewing dates for the semester are as follows:

  • Thursday, April 23, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
