MEN’S TENNIS
The No. 10 HU men’s tennis team continued its dominant run through Crossroads League play Saturday afternoon with a commanding 7–0 sweep over Spring Arbor University on the road at Jones Tennis Complex. It marks Huntington’s eighth shutout of the year.
The Foresters wasted no time setting the tone, sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. At No. 1, Julian Tantera and Santiago Sarudiansky earned a 6–4 win, while Pablo Lopez Real and Martin Capdevilla followed with a strong performance at No. 2. Marco Silveira and Javier Lopez Real capped the sweep with a decisive 6–1 victory at No. 3.
Huntington carried that momentum into singles play, delivering a clean sweep in straight sets across all six courts to complete the shutout.
At the top spot, Tantera secured a 6–4, 6–4 win at No. 1. Capdevilla followed with a 6–2, 6–4 victory at No. 2, while Sarudiansky dominated at No. 3 with a 6–1, 6–1 performance.
In the middle of the lineup, Javier Lopez Real picked up a 6–3, 7–5 win at No. 4, and Pablo Lopez Real added another point with a 6–4, 6–3 victory at No. 5. Silveira completed the sweep at No. 6 with a 6–2, 6–3 win to secure Huntington’s seventh point of the match.
With the victory, Huntington extends its winning streak to eight and remains unbeaten in Crossroads League action. Next up is a home match at Klopfenstein Courts on Wednesday to host Taylor at 2:30 p.m.
