VOLLEYBALL

The Huntington volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision, 25-18, 25-14, 25-16, to Trinity Christian (9-6) Saturday afternoon at Saint Francis’ Hutzell Center.

Most impressive about HU’s play was their defense at the net where they logged a season-high 11 blocks to the Trolls’ seven. Tya Bynum was a wall in the middle where she tallied four blocks, two of which were of the solo variety. Lindsay Ingenito and Anna Lewis each added 2.5 blocks.

“Our blocking was a standout for us today,” said Coach Kelsey Herber. “I was also proud of our defensive effort. We continue to improve each time we step on the floor this spring, and I’m eager for what’s to come in the fall.”

Ingenito topped Herber’s crew with six kills. Bynum finished with four and Lewis collected three. Morgan Robrock organized the offense by handing out 18 dimes. Abby Robinson and Sam Gray protected the backline with 11 and nine digs respectively.

Herber’s emphasis and optimism remains steadfast on this fall. “As we continue to train, we are going to focus on improving our passing and attacking aggressive shots offensively.”

Huntington (3-18) wraps up the year with a match against Indiana Tech on March 27.
