WOMEN’S TENNIS

The HU women’s tennis team were downed twice on opening day at Klopfenstein Courts on Wednesday. Both matches were against conference foes which sends the Foresters into the fall with an overall 0-2 record and that same record in CL action.

Against Spring Arbor in the morning, freshman Esther Bolon was the lone winner for Huntington. In her singles debut, the Lima (Ohio) native came from behind in a three-set thriller, 3-6, 7-5, 10-3, over Abby Ducharme.

#25 Marian took charge of the afternoon by sweeping the hosts 7-0. Next up for Ferguson and crew is a trip to Mishawaka to take on Bethel and Indiana Wesleyan on September 4.
