HU junior Mateo Ameller earned the Crossroads League’s first Men’s Tennis Player of the Week honor as announced league office earlier this afternoon.

Ameller kicked off his season last week by going undefeated on HU’s opening day. Against Spring Arbor on Wednesday morning, the junior teamed up with Diego Tapia to notch a 6-4 win at #3 doubles after which he topped Connor Mogle 6-2, 6-3 in #2 singles action.

Later in the day, Ameller breezed past Jones McNamar 6-1, 6-2 on the way to helping the Foresters blank #RV Marian 4-0.

Huntington (1-1) is back in action on Saturday to face #10 IWU and Bethel.
