WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

The Crossroads League announced its women’s basketball preseason all-league teams and among the list were Huntington sophomore Emily Seboe and junior Dazia Drake.

Seboe (Loudonville HS, Millersburg, Ohio) came on strong in the latter half of last year to earn the respect of the Crossroad League coaches as a 2021 preseason Second Team All-League pick. In the last seven games of the season, the 5-11 forward posted 19.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Seboe finished the year averaging 10.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per outing.

The sharp-shooter spent much of her time beyond the arc where she canned a team-best 42 threes at a clip of 37.5 percent which proved the ninth best percentage in the league. She dropped in two long balls per game to rank seventh in the league standings for made three-pointers per game.

Drake (Owen Valley HS, Spencer, Ind.) earned a spot on the preseason Honorable Mention All-League Team. She was a menace on defense last winter as evidenced by swiping 1.5 steals and blocking 0.82 shots per night to finish tenth and sixth respectively in the CL standings. The 5-10 guard finished the year averaging 6.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

After finishing 9-7 in league play last season for the fifth spot in the CL regular season standings, Culler’s crew is picked to finish sixth in the standings this year. Marian is picked to win the conference while Indiana Wesleyan and Taylor are tied for the No. 2 spot. Huntington kicks off its season on October 27 by hosting Indiana Tech at 7:00 p.m.
