Chapel 10/21 – Board of Trustees: Bishop Fetters
Todd Fetters comes from a family with deep connections to Huntington University. The graduates include his parents, his two brothers, his wife, his two sons, both sisters-in-law, and every niece and nephew who has attended college.
He mostly grew up on the edge of the Huntington University campus, in a house where Dowden Science Hall now stands. His father, Dr. Paul Fetters, was founder and dean of the Graduate School of Christian Ministries. Todd’s closest childhood friends were the sons of HU faculty or of United Brethren denominational officials.
Todd entered Huntington University in 1989. He played three years on the soccer team as a goalie and graduated in 1989 with a degree in Bible and religion. Two years later, he received the Master of Christian Ministry degree.
Todd has spent his entire career as a United Brethren minister. He was a pastor for 25 years in Michigan and Pennsylvania. He returned to Huntington in 2013 to work in the United Brethren National Office. He is now in his sixth year as bishop of the United Brethren church, the denomination’s highest elected position. He was re-elected this summer to another four-year term.
Bishop Fetters will be preaching out of John 14 and Matthew 13 in his message “My All for Christ” for this semester’s Board of Trustees chapel. We look forward to seeing you there!
