WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

The HU women’s basketball team learned firsthand just how good #11 Indiana Wesleyan (17-2, 6-1) is Wednesday night to the tune of a 69-35 loss. It was the Foresters’ first time back in Platt Arena since early December.

Huntington got off to a solid start to take a 12-10 lead on Emily Seboe’s triple midway through the first quarter. To say the hosts hit a dry spell offensively was an understatement as they managed just one point over the next ten minutes to stare at a 29-13 deficit by the five-minute mark of the second quarter.

Thankfully, the Foresters’ defense was on point as evidenced by giving up just two points the rest of the half to head into intermission down by 12 at 31-19. HU scored the first three points of the second frame to trim it to single digits, but they got hit hard by another offensive dry spell.

This time around, IWU doubled up the score by the end of the quarter and then continued to roll in the fourth to make for the lopsided final.

Seboe finished with nine points to lead Culler’s crew. Alli Vaughn enjoyed team-high rebounding honors with six. Lilli Frasure and Madison Davis topped the Wildcats with 12 and ten points respectively.

The Foresters (2-16, 0-7) are back at Platt Arena on Saturday to host Grace at 1:00 p.m.
