INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
The HU Indoor Track & Field program will be well represented at the 2022 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships set for March 3-5 at Dakota State University’s Sanford Jackrabbit Athlete Complex in Brookings, S.D.
On the women’s side, freshman Shelby Christman will compete in the 3000 meters as the No. 4 seed. She will also run a leg of distance medley relay (DMR) along Sydney Lambert, Abigail Mays and Emily Tedder.
The Foresters are ranked third nationally in the DMR. Carmen Trier will also travel with the team as an alternate for the DMR.
Lambert and Mays will also toe the line in the 1000 meters as the 8th and 12th seed respectively.
The HU women are ranked 18th in the most recent USTFCCA Indoor Track & Field Rating Index.
On the men’s side, Dylan Felger will head to the big stage to compete in the 600 meters as the No. 1 seed.
Three Foresters are signed up to run the mile. Elijah Chesterman enters the race with HU’s highest ranking as the 7th seed. Reece Gibson will compete as the 39th seed while Aaron Hendryx will line up as the 45th seed.
These four along with Kent Yoder, Austin Liepe, Josiah Sovine and Matt Hyter are registered to potentially compete in the DMR. HU boasts the third fasted time in the DMR.
Yoder and Liepe also earned a spot in the 5000 meters with Yoder running as the 11th seed and Liepe as the 27th seed.
Cameron Worsham earned a spot in the 60 meter hurdles as the 23rd seed. Noah Bise will represent Huntington in long jump and triple jump where he is ranked 9th and 27th respectively.
The Huntington men enter nationals ranked #16 according to the latest rating index.
