MEN’S TENNIS

The Forester men’s tennis team came up short, 5-2, against #RV St. Thomas (12-7) Saturday morning at Eastlake Athletic Club as part of the IWU Spring Invitational.

While the Bobcats earned the point in doubles play, Angel Vazquez Rojas and Mateo Ameller teamed up at #2 doubles to hand Jacob Turley and  Luis Leon a 6-4 loss.

Ameller went on for his second win of the day at #2 singles by disposing of Thomas Andrews 3-6, 6-3, 10-3. HU’s other win came at the No 3 spot where Valentin Mussi made quick work of Lucas Ribas 6-3, 6-1.

With this loss, Huntington drops to 10-11 on the year. Next up for Coach Poncio and crew is the Doc Richards Invitational hosted by IWU this coming week.
