Student Success at Ag Judging Conference

HU ag students were quite successful at the 2022 North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture Annual Judging Conference, hosted this year in North Platte, Nebraska by the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. Students competed in a variety of contests with participants from across the country.

In Knowledge Bowl, the team of Rose Thomas, Grace Olinger, Virginia McChesney, and Colin Harvey (alternates Hunter Martin and Brock Flickinger) placed 4th.

The Dairy Judging team of Rose Thomas, Grace Olinger, Abbie Timmer, and Hunter Martin placed 2nd. Additionally, Rose Thomas was the champion individual in Dairy Judging.

Virginia McChesney competed in Horticulture, bringing home the 3rd place team award.

In Livestock Judging, the team placed 4th overall. Team members were Rose Thomas, Grace Olinger, Abbie Timmer, Jace Craner, and Brock Flickinger.

The Soils Judging team of Virginia McChesney, Colin Harvey, and Hunter Martin placed 11th.
