WOMEN’S GOLF
The HU women’s golf team took fifth at the IWU-hosted Sagamore Shootout last week at Sagamore Golf Club.
As a team, the Foresters posted a two-round score of 728. Danielle Tinsley had one of her best collegiate performances to lead the way with a 164 (83-81) for ninth place out of 36 golfers.
Lexy Turpchinoff turned in a 186 (89-97). Abby Sheehan (95-94) and Lauren Slottke (90-99) both scored a 189 while Katie Springer finished with a 216 (107-109).
“I’m happy that we continue to make improvements, even with the cold rainy conditions we have been playing in,” said Coach Patrick Davis. “We just need to play with confidence and keep our focus on scoring around the greens.
“I’m really proud of Danielle for getting the first top ten finish of her college career. She works really hard on her game and it’s awesome that it is starting to show.”
IWU won the team title with a 623 followed by Marian (655), Grace (656), Saint Francis (699), HU (728) and Spring Arbor (739).
Huntington is back at it on April 18 for the Ackerman-Allen Shootout.
