MEN’S GOLF

The Forester men’s golf team wrapped up the year with a 7th-place finish at the Crossroads League Championships at Chariot Run Golf Club. After posting an impressive 295 in the first round, HU turned in a 312 and 321 in the final two rounds for a final score of 928.

“The guys fought really hard,” Coach Connor Dwyer. “We were in the tournament for the first 27 holes.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t finish the way we wanted. I was extremely proud of our first round as it was the lowest round we’ve posted in a long time! Throughout the year I’ve seen major improvements and if the returning players can improve over the summer, we will be in great shape next year.”

Chance Bressler collected 11 birdies, the third most of the tourney, on his way to leading Coach Dwyer’s crew with a 228 (79-72-82) good for 18th out of 45 golfers. David Beck finished with a 232 (76-80-76) for 23rd place.

Peyton Richmond (71-81-77) and Mitchell Wilson (74-79-87) each carded a 237 while Quin Edwards played two rounds for a 170 (84-86).

Taylor captured the league title by hiring a 862 followed by Marian (878), Indiana Wesleyan (905), Saint Francis (908), Grace (917), Spring Arbor (922), HU (928), Bethel (936) and Mount Vernon (943).
