BOWLING

Incoming freshman Jordan Malott, a blue chip recruit for the HU men’s bowling program, will be competing in the 2022 PBA King of the Lanes event this summer with his father Wes Malott. This annual contest will air in prime time on Fox Sports’ FS1 over five consecutive weeknights starting June 6.
In particular, Jordan and Wes will compete in the first-ever PBA King of the Lanes: Royal Family Edition in which prominent PBA stars team up with their talented children in the quest to become bowling’s royal family. The three-day battle will be held at Bowlero Jupiter in Jupiter, Florida.
“It’s been my lifelong dream to be able to bowl an event with my dad,” said Malott. “I hope to make him proud.”
Guppy and Kyle Troup, who own the most combined PBA Tour titles (16) among any living father-son combo, will be the inaugural Royal Family. Jordan and Wes will be one of six contender duos looking to challenge the Troup familial superiority.
“We are very excited about the opportunity that Jordan has to be able to compete with his dad on bowling’s biggest stage,” said Huntington Coach Mike Shockey. “It is going to be an unbelievable experience and one that I’m sure both will remember forever.
“Jordan will be bringing a lot of experience and talent to our roster next season and this will be another level of experience he will be able to use to help launch his collegiate career. We all want to wish Jordan and Wes good luck at the King of the Lanes Royal Family Edition!”
The Malotts kick off the competition on June 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET by facing Chris and Ryan Barnes with the winner going up against the Troup clan.
Since 2005, Wes Malott has won ten PBA Tour titles and was the 2008-09 Chris Schenkel PBA Player of the Year. His resume also includes 18 PBA Regional Tour titles. He has rolled 41 perfect 300 games and this past February was inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame.
Jordan will enroll at Huntington this fall as a sport management major.
