MEN’S TENNIS

The 4th-seeded HU men’s tennis team earned a trip to the semifinals of the Crossroads League Tournament Tuesday afternoon by ousting 5th-seeded Spring Arbor, 6-1, in quarterfinal action of the tourney at Klopfenstein Courts.

The Foresters got down to business right away by claiming the point in doubles within the first 30 minutes of the start of the match compliments of  6-2 wins at both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. HU would go on to win the tiebreaker at the No. 3 spot too.

Singles play was just as uneventful as Poncio’s crew won in straight at the top five spots to cruise to the W. The matchup between these two squads in the regular season mirrored today’s final score of 6-1. HU has racked up 11 consecutive wins over SAU (4-5).

The Foresters, now 6-3 on the season, travel to IWU on Thursday to take on the top-seeded Wildcats in semifinal action of the CL tourney.
