MEN’S BASKETBALL

Graduate student Zach Goodline has once again been touted as one of the nation’s best as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Earlier today the 6-1 guard was named an NAIA Second Team All-American.

Goodline did a little bit of everything for Coach Kory Alford’s crew this year having averaged 20.6 points, 5.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 steals. He finished 15th among his NAIA peers in assists and 25th in scoring.

The Coloma (Mich.) native (Coloma HS) is just one of four Crossroads League players to earn All-American honors with Elijah Malone of Grace and Javan Buchanan of IWU named to the top tier while Bethel’s Drew Lutz claiming a spot on the Third Team.

After sporting Forester green four seasons, Goodline finished his HU career with 2,418 points and 624 assists. He is Huntington’s three all-time leading scorer. He has racked up a plethora of honors and awards over the years highlighted by being named the Crossroads League Player of the Year and garnering NAIA First Team All-American honors last season.

Goodline is the ninth Forester men’s basketball player to collect four All-Conference badges. In addition to having earned NAIA All-American shoutouts the last two seasons, his resume also includes an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American accolade in 2022. He also helped guide HU to three straight NAIA National Tournament appearances.

For the first time in 2023-24, all NAIA All-America teams from every sport are comprised of three teams. No honorable mentions are selected, and every conference player of the year is guaranteed a spot on at least the third team.
