WOMEN’S GOLF

The HU women’s golf team fired an 18-hole score of 352 on Monday to take second out of five teams at Bethel’s April Fools’ Day Classic at Rock Hollow Golf Club, beating third-place Aquinas by a stroke.

As a team, Huntington led the field in par 5s with their 5.80 average and finished second in pars with 32.

Kira Moore paced the Foresters with a ten-over-par 82 to finish third out of 29 golfers and earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Abby Sheehan had a solid day to card an 85 for sixth place. Danielle Tinsley turned in a 90 good for 14th place while Riley Kitson posted a 95 to finish 18th. Grace Dill rounded out Huntington’s scores with a 96 to slide in at 23rd.

Bethel won their own classic with a 329 followed by HU (353), Aquinas (353), Saint Francis (373) and Cornerstone (388).

HU is back at it April 6-7 for the Battle at the Woods Invitational.
